Dr. Megan Connell, author of Tabletop Role-Playing Therapy the Guide for the Clinician Game Master, is a board certified psychologist in private practice in Charlotte North Carolina.  She is the co-founder of Health Quest Innovative Therapeutics a whole health behavioral health practice.  She is also the co-founder of the media company Geeks Like Us.  Through Geeks Like Us Dr. Connell hosts Psychology at the Table, the Brain Noodles Podcast, she is the Game Master for Clinical Roll, and hosts the Geeks Like Us Book Club.  Her innovated work with girls, geeks and games has garnered her international attention, particularly for her work in applied role playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. 

Dr. Connell’s work on the interface of gaming and psychology has been featured on multiple podcasts, in publications such as TIME, BBC, CBC, NPR, Syfy WIRD, Forbes, and The Philip DiFranco Show.  She regularly speaks at major gaming conventions.  She is also one of the contributing authors for Video Games and Well-being: Press Start; Integrating Geek Culture into Therapeutic Practice The Clinician’s Guide to Geek Therapy, and co-created the Game Master’s Dungeon Journal specifically designed to help those planning and running therapeutic tabletop roleplaying games.  Prior to starting her current work she served for seven years as a psychologist in the US Army.
