In collaboration with the Student Veterans of America, City of Fall River Veteran Services, and Bristol Community College, Frost Call is excited to debut Operation: Game On. This event will occur over two days, with one day devoted to free play gaming consoles, tabletop games, and one-shot D&D campaigns. Day 2 will be more competitive with the addition of a Smash Brothers tournament for those who want to throw their hat in for some excellent prizes! If you are interested in competing, please be sure to grab a "Competitor Ticket" for day 2.
Please note the $5.00 admission fee will go towards free food and beverages throughout the event.
Day 1 Events: Freeplay and Meetups
The emphasis on Day 1 of the Game On event is simple: hanging out with other veterans and gamers through the afternoon. There will be open console play, including Xbox Series S/X and PS5 with single player, multiplayer, and online (e.g., Call of Duty) gaming. If you have your own handle/online account you'd like to login please let a staff member know for assistance.
Otherwise, there will be free food, drinks, and swag from local organizations with information about veteran services and benefits. The format is "open house" so grab a ticket and swing by to join us.
Day 2 Events: Smash Brothers Tourney
Freeplay continues on Day 2! Folks who want to spectate the tourney and play other games with friends can sign up for a General Admission ticket. For folks interested in competing, read on.
Smash Brothers competitors will square off in a 1v1 bracket, not items except for the smash ball. All competitors will be required to attend a brief overview session on the Frost Call Discord at www.frostcall.org/discord prior to the event.
This is a casual event and all skill levels are welcome. Will there be prizes? Yes. Will the winners receive a trophy they can brag about for eternity? Also yes. But in the end, it's about the friends you made along the way.
Who can compete?
Members of the BCC gaming club along with local vets, cadets, and service members are all invited to compete.
